Day 6: Puno, Lake Titicaca Departure by special tourist bus to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Wonderful landscapes await us. Our journey will be enveloped by marvelous views of the Southern Valley. One of the mandatory stops is the church of "San Pedro Apóstol" in the picturesque village of Andahuaylillas, known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas" due to its dazzling Baroque decoration and the wealth of canvases, murals, and other treasures that will surely catch our attention. Also, the archaeological complex of Raqchi, known as the Temple of Wiracocha, is an unmissable stop—thanks to its majestic structure over 14 meters high. We must also mention the La Raya Pass, located at 4335 meters above sea level. We will take a short break there to enjoy the magnificence of the landscape, including the snow-capped peak of Chimboya—part of the imposing Andes range. Don't forget to capture this magical moment! Finally, our journey will take us to the charming settlement of Pukara, where the history and beauty of its museum will immerse us in an exciting journey through the Incan past and the cultural traditions of the region. Day 7: Full-day trip to the Uros and Taquile Islands in Titicaca Lake Titicaca is home to extremely special communities with whom we will share unforgettable moments, exploring their culture and traditions. The Uros people have lived on the floating islands in the lake for over 3,000 years, and in 2013 their ancient practices were declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation. They have developed a unique ability to live amidst the totora reeds, adapting to the environment by using this aquatic plant to build their rafts and houses. The island residents will be our guides—they will tell us about the formation of the islands, their way of life, and the creation of their traditional totora fabrics. On Taquile Island, we will witness a different way of life on the shores of Titicaca. As we climb to the island's summit, we will be able to see various agricultural crops, and in the distance—the majestic lake and the snow-capped Illimani mountain, creating a captivating combination of green and sky-blue tones. The people of Taquile are famous for their textile art, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Every color and pattern woven into their fabrics carries a special meaning, reflecting their social relationships. After the island tour and immersion in their traditions, we will share time with the local community amidst dances and traditional music—an experience that will remain long in our hearts. Day 8: Puno to Lima flight Flight from Puno to Lima and transfer to the hotel in Lima. Visit the old part of the city, preserved in its historical heart, declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will discover the center of Lima on foot, with Plaza de Armas as our central point—a beautiful colonial square, worthy of photos, surrounded by iconic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Archbishop's Palace. We will have the opportunity to enter one of the most emblematic religious sites in Lima—the Santo Domingo Monastery, also declared a World Cultural Heritage Site, where the relics of three Peruvian saints are kept: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres, and San Juan Macías. Day 9: Full-day trip from Lima to Paracas and the Ballestas Islands Early morning departure from Lima south along the Pan-American Highway—a road that follows the shores of the Pacific Ocean and reveals incredible views of Peru's coastal deserts. Along the way, we will see rocky hills, dunes, and ocean bays, as well as small fishing villages where life follows the rhythm of the sea. We will pass through the desert landscape of the Ica province, famous for its vineyards and the production of the traditional drink, pisco. After about 3–4 hours, arrival in Paracas—a small port town located on the coast of the national reserve of the same name. There, we will board a boat for a ride to the Ballestas Islands. During the cruise, we will enjoy a view of the famous "Candelabrum"—a mysterious geoglyph carved into the desert slope and visible only from the sea, whose origin is still a mystery. Around the Ballestas Islands, we will closely observe an incredible variety of marine life: colonies of sea lions lounging on the rocks, thousands of seabirds—pelicans, cormorants, boobies, and gulls—and even elegant Humboldt penguins, which live only along the Pacific coast of Peru and Chile.
